Constructed from hot forged aluminium, the device combines strength with lightweight performance. It features three selectable braking positions that can be set before descent, along with two additional braking spurs that allow friction to be adjusted during use. The design helps reduce rope twisting and prevents the formation of a lark - s head hitch, improving safety and control during abseiling.

The Pirana remains securely attached to the harness during rope installation, reducing the risk of dropping the device. It is designed to work with a locking carabiner with a 12 mm cross section, creating a stable and controlled connection. Compatible with single ropes from 8 mm to 13 mm, it is suitable for professional use where reliable descent control is essential.
